Skype Consultations

Why Not Skype A Consultation If You Aren’t In The UK.

Skype is easy and free to install on any computer providing you have a camera (external or built in) and sound (both to speak and listen).

So when you are ready to design and purchase your suit through our Skype consultations this is how it works.

Firstly we take a look at all the fabrics, linings and shirting samples. Skype allows us to show the fabrics in our range using our quality camera. We normally recommend that clients visit our fabric guide page on our website pre consultation as we have created high quality PDF documents that show all our fabrics in detail and make a good starting point when looking at colour and texture.
When you then see the fabric on camera you can see how the fabric will look and feel when made into your suit! We actually carry over 250 fabric samples for suits and 150+ linings. We have in excess of 100 shirting fabrics and 20 or so fabrics in our overcoat range too.

In your consultation we ask your partner or a friend, under our watchful eye, to take a series of bespoke measurements. We carefully talk you through every measurement taken.
Please ensure you have a working tape measure to hand. It is also important, if possible, that you are wearing shirt, pants & jacket. They may not be a perfect fit but they do aid the measurement process.

This process allows our Master Tailors to create paper patterns for you, which are used to cut the cloth for your suit. Your measurements remain on our system and any time in the future you would like to order anything else all you need to do is choose a fabric, discuss the detailing and the garment can be ordered immediately.

When the measurement process is complete we begin designing your suit.
Any classic or funky suits based on traditional male styles and the latest fashion trends can be created.

Here at The BCC we always design your suits with you, our client. We do this together by looking at not only the fabric and lining ranges but by looking at all the individual detailing that makes up a bespoke suit.
Detailing in the design of a suit includes collar style & width, button detail, contrasting stitching on the button holes, the number of buttons on the jacket front, sleeve & vest. We look at every last detail of suit construction so we can create the ideal suit for you.
To show examples of detailing we will have our bespoke sample rail beside us which allows you to see all the choices available.

At the outset it’s important to consider what kind of suit you are looking for and for what purpose. For example you may want a suit for a specific occasion such as your wedding. Whatever your reason we encourage you to make the suit as versatile as your lifestyle.
In the future you may, want to wear your suit in many ways, perhaps using the jacket with a sweater, vest with jeans etc. It’s all about creating the perfect suit for you with all the versatility you require. A bespoke suit is an investment but it’s an investment in you and your future.

The cost of the suit depends on the material for fabric & lining & which detailing elements you choose.

The starting price for a two piece suit is £750 ($1200) T
The starting price for a 3 piece is £950 ($1520)
We have based this on an exchange rate of £1.00=$1.60.
Average spend prices are shown on our Pricing page

Please note exchange rates change daily. For European clients we recommend using a Euro to GBP exchange rate of £1.00=1.25 Euro
For the rest of the World including Australia we ask that you check the current exchange rate.

For consultations we charge a £75 ‘guarantee fit fee’. This covers the cost of the measurement process & any remakes required. Any smaller alterations required at fitting should be undertaken by an alteration tailor locally to you (the client)
The £75 Guarantee Fit Fee is taken as a deposit upon booking the consultation which ensures the appointment is held for you.

When the consultation is complete, we take 100% payment upfront by credit card. We offer this form of payment as a secure option for both parties. When we place the order with our Master Tailors we pay them in full. This is because in all bespoke tailoring once the paper & cloth patterns are cut the fabric can then only be used for your garments.

We also ask that prior to your consultation you inform your credit card company that you will be making a purchase in the United Kingdom. We have found that if clients don’t advise their banks in advance payments are often refused. That means our clients then have to speak to their bank for authorisation before payment can be made and this in turn delays the ordering process.

When the order is complete your suit will then be posted to you 7-9 wks later.
For delivery we charge a £150.00 standard postage fee (this includes full insurance cover and a fully traceable service) per 2/3 piece order worldwide.

Please note customs duties may be payable on receipt of your garments, this is country dependant and The Butch Clothing Company has no control over these costs. We do require you to notify us if you have not received your suit within 3-5 days. We will advise you when suit has been collected by our courier. Our deliveries are ‘sign for’ and so giving us an address either work or home, where someone is always present really helps.

Please remember the nature and beauty of bespoke tailoring is that alterations & remakes can be required at first fitting. First fitting should be held as soon possible after you receive the suit.
For fitting you can either arrange a Skype fitting with us or try the garments on yourself and let us know how they fit. Please always remember a bespoke suit fit feels very different to ‘off the peg’ garment as they are cut to your profile and fully tailored to you.

If at this point we deem an alteration or remake is required we discuss it with you in full. At this stage we ask you take some photos of front, back & side view so we can see the fit clearly.
If we feel a remake is required we will ask you to post the garments back to us here in the UK where it will be remade free of charge. If you do have to return your garments for ‘remake’ please ensure that you put “return goods” on the package. This is needed for customs purposes.
For an alteration we will look at the size of the alteration to determine the best course of action. Small alterations are advised to be undertaken by a tailor local to you (i.e. the client).

All our suits are tailored solely to you and are handmade by our Master Tailors.
Your suit should last you for the next 15 years or more.

We set up the company with the aim of providing quality clothing for butch or non feminine identified women. We feel as a group in society we have been severely overlooked in the clothing market for generations. We wanted to offer suits that not only fit perfectly but offer a unique and highly enjoyable purchasing experience.

We believe we have created an excellent solution with our Skype consultations that will allow clients to reach us worldwide. We hope you think so too!

If you require further information please let us know. We are happy to give you a call to discuss the process further and are equally happy to answer any questions via email at your convenience.
